OPERATION HISTORY, ACTIVITIES AND EXPANSION PLANS

Pan Resources Sdn Bhd began in 1987 by venture into foreign markets, especially Thailand. Through a Synergically Management and Team effort, we were able to achieve and maintain our sales volume to 5000 tones of sawn timber.

To expand our business further, a Kuala Lumpur branch was set up in 1991 to market sawn timber to the European Markets. This is further necessitated by the fact that there is no kiln dry plant in Kuantan. Furthermore, the port facilities at Port Klang are more advanced and the shipping companies use containers which protect the timber from being subjected to the weather element plant during shipment. The Kuala Lumpur branch further ventures into the Japanese and Taiwanese markets which has contributes greatly to the profitability of Pan Resources Sdn Bhd.

In 1990, Pan Resources Sdn Bhd successfully penetrated the Middle Eastern markets through its business partner in Singapore ( Al Almeen Pte Ltd ), This is essential as the banking facilities, infrastructure and the strategic location of Singapore is more effective and efficient to allow easy access to the Middle East Markets.

The Kota Kinabalu branch was set up in 1990 in order to enhance our strengths as one of the market leader in the timber export industry. Furthermore, competitive labour and overhead costs allows us offer more competitive pricing compared to our competitors.

Due to the ever increasing number of buyers from all the above countries, we managed to clinch the TOP TEN exporter for 1991. We have managed consecutively for three years in a row, proving that our strength in Timber Export is not through words alone.

The Sibu branch was also set up in May 1996 to further efforts the by the company to increase exports to Thailand and the Middle East.

We plan to foray into the prospective markets for sawn timber exports in China, South Korea and the African Continent.

Part of the company’s diversification plans include down stream industries, such as furniture manufacturing, molding and kiln drying.
